Antique Mall Booth Successful Tips Selling Storage Unit Inventory!
This is a really unique way of selling your storage unit merchandise. Similar to consignment stores because you’re getting foot traffic but the better part of this is it’s almost like having your own brick and mortar store just on a smaller scale. You’re able to set your own prices and arrange your area to your liking also you have the option of selling whatever you want to showcase.
I have definitely dabbled a little bit into rental boots primarily you’ll see these in antique malls but you would be very shocked to know that a lot of the stuff that sells in there are basic household items like pots and pans etc. etc. which is a lot of the type of stuff you’ll see in storage units.
Now a couple things to note here yes you set your own prices but you are in charge of your booth you have to sticker and maintain/add merchandise constantly so you are profitable.
Also one of the questions you need to ask before you rent is what are the fees? Do they charge a flat monthly fee? And some areas like this video they charge a flat monthly fee and then also a percentage of everything that sells.
Also is there a contract this place requires a 3 or 6 month contract.
Also know your surroundings tell them you are a active storage unit buyer and ask what type of stuff sells well so you can target their foot traffic audience.
For me the reason I don’t entertain booths more is because the closest antique Mall is about 35 minutes from my location, Travel time to me is very important especially if I had to continuously add new merchandise.
Not all people have flea markets that are relatively close to you, For example I don’t have a flea market to get rid of medium to small profit items so this may be a fantastic option. You have to understand what type of seller you’re going to be how are you going to make money if you don’t have flea markets then you may have to lean more online sells, consignment stores, or antique malls.
Also typically antique malls do better during the winter months where flea markets are better during the summer or nicer weather months, So I guess you could entertain both options.
Also keep in mind some antique malls where you rent your own booth do have waiting lists.
So, if you are entertaining this option you may want to call to get on a list for an open space.

I would possibly read the reviews of any antique mall possibly talk to some of the current merchants that sell their, really do your research especially if they require a contract.
At the very beginning of this business it takes time to get acclimated try not to spread yourself too thin and get good at a couple ways to make money at first.
