The Story of the Book of Daniel | THE KEY TO UNLOCKING THE BIBLE | Bible Stories
In the third year of Jehoiakim’s reign in Judah, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, attacked and conquered the city. God allowed Jehoiakim and some sacred temple utensils to be taken to Babylon, marking the beginning of a period of exile. There, Nebuchadnezzar ordered that young noblemen—healthy, intelligent, and good-looking—be chosen to serve in his court. For three years, these young men would be trained in the language and culture of Babylon and fed on the king’s finest foods. Among them was Daniel, whose story would become a testament to faith, wisdom, and the sovereignty of God, even in a foreign land.
