Conference 07
The organization of the Constitutions submitted as Project 3 differed drastically from the earliest Constitutions. The 1925 version was a top-down presentation, from the Order to the houses to the nuns and monks in the houses. The new Constitutions began first with a section on the spirituality of the Order, then moved to the individuals, the nuns and monks who made up the order, then finally moved to the governance of the Order as a whole. Toward the end of this conference, Fr. Michael introduces some of the ways in which the Constitutions were presented to the Order and to the General Chapter and how feedback and criticism from various sources eventually led to a better version. Support for the new Constitutions and trust in the process grew as it became obvious that everyone would have a say in their final form.
