Milk cartons, as a type of poly-coated paper, are typically composed of multiple layers of different materials. These materials may include paper, various plastics, and even aluminum foil.
How to recycle coated paper materials and milk cartons?
Unlike typical waste, recycling coated paper materials requires specific machinery. First, the recovered milk cartons are fed into a shredder for breaking down. Next, they go through a washing and paper-plastic separation machine, where paper and plastic (aluminum-plastic) are separated in this process. The separated paper goes through a residue removal machine to eliminate impurities, and then through a dewatering machine to reduce the moisture content of the pulp. Ultimately, recyclable pulp and plastic are obtained. Throughout this process, water can be reused in a closed-loop system.
