In this video I go focus on two types of chromosomal rearrangements: deletions and inversions. I discuss how deletions and inversions could occur and the effects each would have on the genes. For deletions, I go into specifics of centromere deletions, gene dosage, pseudodominance, and haploinsufficiency. I also discuss their effects on some developmental disorders such as cri-du-chat, Angelmann, and Prader-Willi syndromes. Finally, I discuss the difference between paracentric and pericentric inversions and how they could affect gene expression. Apologies for the weird green screen things happening.
