In this weeks video, we sailed up to Newport Beach and explored the Upper Newport Bay, also known as the back bay ran by the Newport Bay Concervancy. This area is an important Salt Marsh habitat for migratory birds, endangered species, and carbon sequestration. We explore different wetland habitats in the area, including saltwater marshes, freshwater marshes, and riparian streams. An explanation of theses different habitats and the native plants and animals are included.
