The Carmel Police Department's Motorcycle Traffic Unit is out on patrol. Supervisor Mike Mabie explains that the motorcycles provide his team better access to city streets, more flexibility and maneuverability, and the chance to connect with residents. Children love seeing officers on their Harley Davidson Electra Glides, which are specifically designed for police use. The highly trained officers of the Motorcycle Traffic Unit patrol neighborhoods, participate in events such as Carmel Fest 4th of July parade, and deliver a positive law enforcement presence in the community.
