CA-Link integrates engineering into business processes, and unites the engineering data entered in the CAD system and the commercial information stored in the ERP system, creating one central database. As a result, design engineers can access the corporate database from within their CAD environment and enhance it by storing their drawings there. 3D and 2D CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs created in the engineering process automatically become available for subsequent work steps.
In turn, the engineers can access the quote data entered in sales, purchasing or production, and take into account any specifications or change requests made by customers. Whenever a drawing is changed, the other departments are automatically notified by means of a defined workflow. This avoids redundant data and high-maintenance interfaces.
