The Rope Runner Vertec is the newest addition to the Rope Runner family and in this video, Abdon shares with you what the key differences are, the pros and cons to the Rope Runner Vertec, and compares it side-by-side with the Rope Runner Pro.
Key differences on the ROPE RUNNER VERTEC:
-Tool free friction adjustment.
-No more slic pins.
-Integrated Bird Flap.
-Bottom connection is on a fixed bollard and the attachment piece is shorter in length, which creates an inconsistency upon slack tending. Because the attachment with the bollard is shorter in length, it presses the rope harder onto the friction body but it allows for a better response when collapsing the bird for descent. The inconsistency comes upon the main attachment point to the harness and the carabiner in the slot. When the device generates slack the attachment point falls behind the friction body (closer to) and when the climber begins to slack tend, the carabiner in the attachment collides with the friction body creating resistance (the thicker the diameter the more noticeable this is).
