Vargas shows you how to do a little bit of thinning out in aloes. That's really all the plant needs to keep it at the right size and open up the branch structure, look good and stay healthy. Aloes grow in clumps so first cut the dead material/stalks, then cut to thin it out so sunlight can get into the plant.
Cut what needs to be cut and leave enough for the wildlife like lizards and scoripions!
