There is nothing in the constitution that requires people to be honest or responsible.
I did a video earlier about responsibilities that go along with rights, saying that …
"Inherent in the right to free speech is the responsibility to be honest and become knowledgeable and informed, so what you say has value."
I got a response that said …
"Where in the constitution does it say anything about being honest or responsible?"
The constitution indeed does not require people to be honest or responsible. It also doesn't require people to be kind, fair, just, compassionate, forgiving, patient, respectful, brave, hardworking, thoughtful - - no requirement to think critically.
There's nothing that requires that - - not even the bible or any religious text. You can say that the bible gives guidance to do all those things, but the bible is also used as a basis to do horrible, harmful things.
People have to choose to be honest and principled, … or they can choose not to. It is 100% up to each individual.
When people on balance choose to uphold honesty and human principles … society will flourish. When they don't, society will go into decline.
The United States became great because people … on a collective basis … embraced and supported basic human principles, not because of the constitution or christianity.
We are now on the precipice of a steep decline because the American people have on balance rejected basic honesty and decency, and have chosen to put into power a group of the most dishonest and unprincipled individuals that this country has ever know, and they are bent on tearing the country apart for their own benefit.
The constitution or the bible can't save us. It's up to us to police our own behavior - it always has been.
When I say 'police', I'm talking about giving others feedback when they're off track.
When you hear people whining and crying about others who are 'woke', they're really just complaining about being called out for dishonest, immoral behavior.
Don't treat other people's dishonesty, ignorance, bigotry, and other unprincipled behavior as if they are other points of view deserving equal consideration.
