Today on the homestead, we're playing in the dirt! I used this garden plot for several years in the past and before we get back into it, I want to tear into the hard pan as much as I can to promote drainage and root growth. I don't own a sub-soiler, but I have a cultivator that will go as deep as the little tractor's 3 point will allow.
This old sub-compact is a monster for it's size. It gets hung up a little in some mulberry tree roots, but keeps on pulling even while slipping, proving the value of a good true 4wd tractor on a small homestead. 10 years ago, when I bought this tractor, Grandpa said it was probably the best investment I ever made. I don't know if it was "the" best, but he could have been right.
