Creating a team in your business is oftentimes essential for scaling. But should you build an agency in your business? There’s a specific mindset that freelancers and business owners must be in, to make an agency work. Owen, a member from the Creative X Crew in this video shares his viewpoints on what you need to prepare for when considering building and managing a design agency.
Before starting a digital agency, think about how you are going to build your team. Will they all be employees or contractors? What will your role be in the business? What is the eventual goal for building this agency? If you get an offer from another company to become an employee, would you go back to being an employee? How would that decision impact your agency that you’ve built? The mindset of agency vs. employee is vastly different – so be prepared for that. Wanting to understand how to build an agency all starts with some of these key questions that will impact the future of your agency.
