The Browne Amplification Protein Dual Overdrive pedal and the Analogman King of Tone are two of the most popular overdrive pedals in 2022. In this video, I'll be comparing these two boutique drive pedals with different guitars and different amplifier solutions. I'll be using my Dr. Z EZG-50 (based on a '60s Fender Super Reverb) for the real amp and my Universal Audio Dream '65 for the amp pedal.
The Protein is based on a Nobels ODR-1 (green side) and a Keeley-modded BOSS Blues Driver (blue side). The King of Tone is loosely based on a vintage Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal. Both these pedals are incredible, and the aim of this video is to help you find which one is right for you. No right answers, only great guitar tone! Thanks for watching :)
