A police officer in Maryland is being hailed as a hero after pushing a young child out of the way of an oncoming car.

Officer Annette Goodyear was treated for injuries at a local hospital and then released. She initially had gestured for the car to stop to allow the student to cross the road, but the driver did not comply.
