(13 Mar 2018) A car bomb went off on Tuesday outside a supply post belonging to a Yemeni security force backed by the United Arab Emirates in the southern port city of Aden, killing at least three people, security officials said.
The attack injured five other people including two children, security officials said.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement carried by its Aamaq news agency.
It said an explosives-laden vehicle hit a supply and provision post belonging to the pro-UAE Security Belt Forces in in Aden.
Aden, on the Arabian Sea, has been frequently hit by attacks blamed on Islamic militants. It has been the seat of the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi since 2014, when Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, seized the capital Sanaa and forced him into self-exile.
A Saudi-led coalition backing Hadi has been at war with the Houthis since March 2015.
