President Cyril Ramaphosa says the BRICS bloc is playing an important role in the global economy.
He says this has prompted other countries outside the bloc to express interest in joining.
President Ramaphosa was addressing the BRICS political parties dialogue in Boksburg, Gauteng, on Tuesday evening. The event, which is being hosted by the ANC, is a build-up event to the main BRICS summit next month.
