Watch Joy, in London, tell her story about being a kinship carer. Joy's granddaughter is one of 162,000 children growing up in kinship families across England and Wales who know the value of love. But politicians still overlook them and undervalue the role of kinship carers in keeping children within their loving families and out of the care system. Unlike children in foster care, most kinship families receive no financial or practical support. This urgently needs to change.
