Dyreparken is located 12 kilometers east of Kristiansand, just off the E 18, and is a complete destination with an experience offer for the whole family. Dyreparken has its own Water Park and five unique and exciting accommodation concepts; Dyreparken Hotell, the pirate hotel Abra Havn, Kardemomme by, Dyreparken Safaricamp and Roligheden Camping.
Dyreparken first opened on 25 June 1966 as a summer park, with 30 different animals. Four years later, the park was open all year round, and has been ever since. The area has been expanded and expanded continuously, and today extends over 663 acres, with 127 different animal species, several themed areas (Asia, Africa, Nordic Wilderness, etc.) and a number of activities, from a log flume and bobsleigh track to carousels and pirate ships. In the summer season, there is extensive entertainment from many stages, and actors who bring the universes to life, e.g. in Captain Sabertooth's World and in Cardamom town.
