RL 2024/25 features new varieties with the potential to provide a consistent economic benefit to the UK industry.
This video is part of a series of crop-specific videos, which sees Paul Gosling, who manages the RL at AHDB, provide an overview of the newly added varieties to the lists to help farmers make variety choices in 2024 and beyond.
This video covers the spring barley list (launched online on 27 November 2023).
About the Recommended Lists (RL)
The AHDB Recommended Lists for cereals and oilseeds (RL) provides information on yield and quality performance, agronomic features and market options to assist with variety selection. The first recommended list was published almost 80 years ago, by NIAB in 1944.
The RL is run in partnership with a consortium of the British Society of Plant Breeders (BSPB), The Maltsters’ Association of Great Britain (MAGB), UK Flour Millers (UKFM) and AHDB.
