Painting is extremely subjective. This is a technique I use when painting engine parts using high temperature engine spray paints. The finish comes out very durable and long lasting, even with the harsh Northeast winter exposure. It mimics the finish from the GM factory on cast steel parts like the block, heads, and manifolds from the 50's through the 80's. In instances where more protection is needed I also add a clear layer for more protection. There are many other techniques you can use to paint engine parts, this is merely one of them.
