The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is a stealth technology warplane used for bombing. Aircraft made of thermoplastic materials are used by the US Air Force.
This aircraft was first introduced to the public in 1988 and flew for the first time on July 17, 1989, with active status. These aircraft are not capable of fast flight and are easily knocked down if spotted. Therefore, Northrop Grumman has developed a new radar absorbent coating to drastically preserve the stealth characteristics of the B-2, in order to reduce maintenance time. The new material, known as alternative high frequency material (AHFM), is sprayed by four independently controlled robots.
