Part 2 of building a new transmission for my rail buggy. The goal here is to build a transmission that works well but is also easily obtainable and budget friendly.
For VW rail buggy needs, in my experience it has been difficult to locate, purchase, and repair the old VW 002/091 transmissions. Some of them are 50+ years old at this point, we need a more modern affordable solution.
There are only 2 custom parts on this transmission, the tail housing and the spline locking device. If I break it far from home I can pretty easily swap these parts onto any other subaru 5-speed and continue on (minus the gearing)
