The Aksay gorge in the Ili-Alatau national Park in the Almaty region is very beautiful. Especially the gorge is beautiful in autumn, when the mountains are covered with all the colors of autumn. Aksai monastery stands on the top of the mountain. Since 1913, the monks lived here. In 1921, they were shot by the Bolsheviks. The grave of the monks Seraphim and Theognost in the Aksai gorge is always visited by believers and is considered a Holy place.
