The University of Cape Town says any further disruptions to this year's academic calendar at the institution will have devastating consequences for students. About 2-hundred students went on a rampage overnight, starting fires and causing havoc on campus.
The tyres of six UCT buses were slashed and human excrement was thrown into some of the buildings. Students want free education and the release of the fees commission report. UCT Vice-Chancellor, Max Price says they will rely on private security and police to ensure the completion of the academic year, which ends in eight days. Corbin August reports.
