Senior journalist Tipparaju Ramesh Babu said that director Ram Gopal Varma has shown truth in Lakshmi’s NTR. He praised Ram Gopal Varma for selecting appropriate actors for the roles of NT Rama Rao, Lakshmi Parvathi and Chandrababu Naidu. He claimed that the TDP will not get more than 40 Assembly seats if the film is released in Andhra Pradesh prior to elections. Ramesh Babu revealed that RGV used the name of the party as Mana Desam which happened to be the first movie of senior NTR.
