"Tu" is a nonsensical word. It is used as the word "shoo" - a word said to scare or drive away a person or animal.
In this song, the one rocking the baby wants all noise around to cease. She also says in the song, "tell me whoever is making you cry, and I will protect you from the person."
This song is in various Ewe dialects both in Ghana and Togo, but the melody is almost the same in all versions.
