Sesame is an important oilseed crop of sandy loam soils in partially irrigated areas of Punjab. Its single stem, early maturing variety TH 6 has been highlighted in this video clip. This is a good variety accepted throughout Punjab due to its white and bold seeds. If planted sparsusly, its stems become very strong and resist the lodging. Its yield potential has been recorded above 18 maunds per acre but 8-10 maunds can be produced with moderate production practices. It is successful in spring and autumn crop but In some parts of Punjab it can be planted immediately after harvesting of wheat crop.
