Shifra (née Barula) Strausberg Chosid, who was born in 1924 in Romny, tells of how the Jewish women and children were separated into two groups in the forested area of the Peska Ravine, near the Sula River. First, the children were thrown into the pit alive. Then, the women and the rest of the victims were shot.
