Need a guide for the Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion board game, specifically the Hatchet class? Look no further, cause this video is gonna cover the top tips and tricks for this character that will have you tossing favorite hatchets left and right on your next tabletop night. This guide will cover the general gist of gameplay, what cards I had at different levels, items, perks, as well as spoilers at the end of the video. And for context, I played with a 4 player group, so my experience may differ if you have less players or missing certain classes in your team composition.

First and foremost, the Hatchet is all about the Favorite, so really make sure that all your gameplay revolves around trying to throw it as often as possible. Anytime you aren’t throwing it when there was an opportunity you could’ve setup earlier, you’re essentially wasting an entire attack; +3 to damage is a huge deal after all. So don’t toss it somewhere hard to retrieve, and learn to play with it aggressively, diving into the fray sometimes just to pick it back up (it’s okay to take hits here and there).
