Why did Jason LaChance want to talk with Jason Rockam? Despite being the frontman for Slaves On Dope and a highly respected radio DJ, two industries that often include partying in excess Jason got sober in his early twenties. In his words, enough damage was done in the 8 years or so of drinking and drugging which started around the age of 12.
Now a husband and father, Jason is of service to others as much as possible when called upon.
Regarding enthusiasm, energy, and passion for music, Jason Rockman is tough to beat. Having been a professional musician for almost 25 years, he has sold over 120,000 records worldwide and collaborated with rock 'n roll hall of famers Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC) and Chuck D (Public Enemy). He has also shared the stage with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Our Lady Peace, Pantera, Korn, Motörhead, Queens of the Stone Age, and countless others. It is fair to say that Jason has been there AND bought the T-shirt. He is the lead singer of Slaves On Dope, an entertainment correspondent for CTV national news, and a spokesperson for both Montreal and Ottawa Comic cons, as well as the Heavy Montréal music festival. He brings his love of life, music, movies, and pop culture to his audience five nights a week on Amped with The Rockman on CHOM 97.7 radio. He is also the host and co-creator of TV's "Geek Me!".
