However, an overheating computer can damage multiple components, make multiple components act in weird ways, and therefor makes it very hard to troubleshoot which components are the cause of the computer not turning on. Q: Why does this power build-up issue happen? How can I prevent it?
A: Make sure your using your computer plugged into a surge protector and not directly into the wall. Also, make sure to not use your computer around large sources of static like in bed, on pillows, etc. Repair tech wear anti-static bracelets when working on computer or put the on anti-static pads. Even though the computer case means you dont have to go that far, try not to use the computer around heavy static sources.
