The WCC was inaugurated on 22 August 1948 at the 1st Assembly in Amsterdam. During the last 75 years, the WCC has been a fellowship that seeks to express the unity in Christ already given to us and to prepare the way for a much fuller and deeper expression of that unity. This celebration plenary held on 25 June 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland, during the meeting of the WCC central committee, highlighted stories from the past, while generating hope for the future.
