Gankeng Ancient Town, formerly Gankeng Hakka Town, is located at No. 18, Ganli Road, Gankeng Community, Jihua Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It originated in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a cultural tourist attraction that integrates local Hakka dwellings, Hakka folk customs, Hakka architecture, Hakka folk art, Hakka traditional food, and Hakka rural scenery in Shenzhen, covering an area of 180,000 square meters. Gankeng is an ancient Hakka village with a long history and is one of the "Top Ten Hakka Ancient Villages in Shenzhen". In the local Hakka language in Shenzhen, "keng" refers to a small stream or ditch. Hakka people often use "keng" and "li" together, and there is a term "kengkenglili".
