Chicago Pneumatic is playing in the big game with their CP8849 1/2" high torque impact wrench. We took some time in their booth while at SEMA 2018 and took a look at this impact. The CP8849 is powered by their 20V battery platform. With up to 850 ft-lbs on tap, there's not much that stands in the way when it comes to loosening fasteners.

The standout features on the CP8849 impact wrench are the 850 ft-lbs of max torque, the multiple power modes, and the LED lights.

The four power modes allow you to easily select how much power output you desire. The low mode only delivers about 5 ft-lbs, so the socket will actually stop even with your finger on the trigger. The next setting provides about 40 ft-lbs, then 50% mode is ~425 ft-lbs, and 100% mode unleashes all 850 ft-lbs of grunt.
