India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has defied a push from Scott Morrison to take a firmer stance on Russia.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his Indian counterpart held a virtual meeting to reaffirm relations between their two nations and discuss the importance of an interim free trade agreement.
Mr Morrison opened the meeting by addressing Russia's war on Ukraine, declaring the world must take a stand against Moscow.
But Mr Modi made no comment and declined to condemn the actions of Russia.
