6 കർത്താവു അരാമ്യസൈന്യത്തെ രഥങ്ങളുടെയും കുതിരകളുടെയും മഹാസൈന്യത്തിന്റെയും ആരവം കേൾപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ: ഇതാ, നമ്മുടെ നേരെ വരേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു ഹിത്യരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും മിസ്രയീംരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും നമുക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂലിക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 അതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തുതന്നേ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഓടിപ്പോയി; കൂടാരങ്ങൾ, കുതിരകൾ, കഴുതകൾ എന്നിവയെ പാളയത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നപാടെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു ജീവരക്ഷെക്കായി ഓടിപ്പോയി.

6 for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!”
