On our quest to visit and kayak all 50 states, we set our sights on Georgia for this kayak7seas Adventure. After some research we decided that Tallulah Gorge offered a fun filled day of hiking and kayaking. We had hoped to secure one of the 100 daily passes to hike the gorge floor, but a scheduled water release prevented that from happening. The hike to see Hurricane Falls and the 1099 stair steps made it a very tough but rewarding day. The Tallulah Gorge is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Hiking the North and South Rim Trails which featured a suspension bridge was a pretty cool experience. We ended the day with a paddle above the dam and made a last minute stop visiting Goats on A Roof, a unique attraction along US-441 in Tiger, Georgia.
