Unboxing the Honor 50 which just hit the UK, including a hands-on review of the camera tech, gaming chops and MagicUI features. Finally packing full Google Services again, the Honor 50 is a solid mid-range pro smartphone boasting slick performance, smart design and respectable specs. A few weaknesses aside (including no headphone jack or stereo speakers), this could be a smart alternative to rivals like the Poco F3, OnePlus 9 etc.
That distinctive dual ring camera may lack a telephoto lens, but you can shoot natural looking photos in most conditions. 4K video looks sharp and audio pickup is strong also. The Honor 50 also packs a 32MP selfie cam that's great for the Grams, as long as lighting isn't too testing.
Gaming on Android titles like Genshin Impact and PubG is a breeze thanks to the Snapdragon 778G chipset. The phone didn't get toasty even after long sessions. Battery life is respectable also, thanks to that platform's energy efficiency.
