The National Institute for Communicable Diseases has urged the public not to discriminate against anyone infected with Monkeypox.
Acting executive director, Professor Adrian Puren, says there's a need for sensitivity surrounding the rare disease to prevent further transmission.
Puren adds that the government agency - NICD - will be on the lookout for statements or social media posts to avoid any stigma.
Editor-in-Chief at Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism, Mia Malan, weighs in on the disease.
