CTA (Cased Telescoped Ammunition) cannons are far from new technology, having originally been created by Air Force researchers in the 50s, and used on light tank test beds during the 70s and 80s. So why haven't they started really showing up until now? What makes them so special? That's what I explain in this video. Though not as exotic as other cannon types like railguns, CLG (combustion light gas) guns, and ETC (electrothermal chemical) guns, CTA guns are fairly unique in their own right.
