First lecture of a free 50 hours bioinformatics course with lectures and assignments given at the Humboldt University Berlin. Learn bioinformatics for plant and animal sciences, introduction, history, molecular biology, as well as some basic R programming for statistical analysis. During the first lecture we'll talk about what bioinformatics is, some definitions, and we go into the history of bioinformatics, computers and computational biology.
