Pope Benedict XVI has chosen Cuba as one of his destinations during his trip to Latin America in March, this year. During his trip, the Pope will visit the shrine of Our Lady Of Charity, near Santiago de Cuba, in the village of Cobre. There he will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of Mary's statue by three fishermen in the Bay of Nipe. After John Paul II, Benedict XVI will be the second Pope to pay homage to the Holy Patroness of the Island. To tell the story of the Virgin of Cuba is to tell the story of Cuba of the last four hundred years, since three fishermen - known as the "thee Johns" -- saw a floating statue of Mary in the sea and brought it ashore. From that day on this Marian devotion has accompanied the history of this Caribbean country.Australia: [ Ссылка ] Irlanda: [ Ссылка ] Stateswww.churchinneed.orgGreat Britain www.acnuk.org/
