Today we are testing the audio of the Audio Technica AT897 Shotgun Microphone out of the box (no clean up sound editing on this vid, just as is). Its about 4 or 5 feet from my chair. Its on a stand, but I wouldn't do that all the time, its meant to boom for maximum audio and low noise results. I give a run down on what you need to start out. This mic doesn't come "boompole ready", you need to get a 5/8-27 M to 3/8-16 F adapter thread. They are fairly cheap. get a shockmount as well, it will reduce the hand/movement noise on a boompole.
