Another C4 series sexing up Traveller life, replete with all that stereotyping comes to expect, has launched onto our televisions again. Are these films balanced ? Do viewers have any idea what they are watching ? There are serious issues surrounding Travellers in the UK and prejudice appears to be as strong as ever. So,do travellers and gypsies have equal rights ? They believe not and in late 2010 told London Mayor Boris this, helped along by children, donkeys, helpers, October sunshine, and not a little passion. Following a silent appearance in the Chamber they took to the streets, canvassing support, spreading their message. Community TV Trust filmed them as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund project coordinated by Southwark Council's Emma Kehoe and produced by Chris Haydon.
