In one of the most tense US presidential elections in recent history, it’s easy to lose sight of the lighter moments. But we spotted plenty of awkward moments from election night.

Both candidates made a final push for votes on election day, with Kamala Harris out knocking on doors and making personal calls to potential supporters… although some questioned why her phone was on camera mode.

Trump almost forgot that election day had arrived, and was typically confident that his campaign couldn't have gone any better.

Meanwhile, Google trends suggested many Americans weren’t aware who they were voting for.

International news coverage of election night brought more awkwardness, with former UK prime minister Boris Johnson attempting to plug his book and some voters being a little too honest about their voting experience.
