Join us, Dave and Louise, as we return to our floating home, Narrowboat Changing Pace, after being away for three days due to a flood evacuation. We were filled with anxiety and anticipation as we didn't know what to expect upon our return.
But we're happy to report that our beloved home is safe and sound, although now at the bottom of the flood poles instead of the top where we left her. It's a testament to the strength and resilience of the boating community, and we are grateful to the Avon Navigation Trust who looked after us and our home in our absence.
Speaking of the community, we want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your concern and offers of help during the floods. We were completely humbled by the outpouring of support and love from our followers. It's a true blessing to be in the middle of such a wonderful community, and we're grateful to be building it with all of you.
In the morning after Dave has returned to work to earn the pennies I, Louise, give a quick recap of all the drama. We're relieved to be back home and not wanting any more of that, thank you very much! We leave you with a beautiful dusk scene of swifts or bats swooping over the River Avon. We're not sure which they are since they move so fast! Once again thanks for being you.
