From MR Imaging of Diffusion in White Matter: Tracks to Brain Interconnectivity
November 23, 2011
Imaging and visualization of diffusion and its directivity in the brain with magnetic resonance give us a window into how the brain is wired and interconnected. White matter fiber tracking reduces the diffusion imaging problem into a vector field. If we consider this vector field as a velocity field and drop a free particle on it, this particle will follow a trajectory along a track that represents neural connectivity in the brain.
