This Post-Show Talk features Ballet BC's artistic director and choreographer, Emily Molnar, moderated by Jacob's Pillow Scholar-in-Residence Maura Keefe. The Talk took place on July 19, 2013 following a performance by Ballet BC at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA.
Post-Show Talks are held at Jacob's Pillow Dance on Fridays in the Ted Shawn Theatre and Thursdays in the Doris Duke Theatre and offer an opportunity for audiences to gain more insight into performances directly from the artists themselves.
The preceding dance performance featured the U.S. premieres of three works: Jacopo Godani's "A.U.R.A. (Anarchist Unit Related to Art), Emily Molnar's "Aniel," and Medhi Walerski's "Petite Cérémonie." Devoted to contemporary ballet and based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the 18-member Ballet BC was founded in 1986 and made two previous appearances at Jacob's Pillow Dance in the 1990s.
These videos are part of Seeing Dance, Talking Dance, a project of Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, encouraging different ways of seeing, discussing, and appreciating dance. This program is supported by Engaging Dance Audiences, administered by Dance/USA and made possible with generous funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
