Zimbabwe's Foreign Affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo maintains that Zimbabwe's police acted within the limits of the country's laws following Friday's clashes between police and opposition protestors. Several EU diplomatic missions accredited to Zimbabwe issued a joint statement urging the Zimbabwean government to recognise and stop violating its citizens' human rights including the right to peaceful protest. Minister Moyo said that the government of Zimbabwe's reengagement efforts were on track and welcomed SADC's recent pronouncement against sanctions on Zimbabwe.
